Our Majestic Region

From the ridges to the forests and fertile farmland of our valley, this region has a special character that has captured the hearts and imaginations of generations. As the farmers, entrepreneurs, land owners, and leaders of this area, we are the stewards of this land, and we share the responsibility of preserving its character for our children’s children.

Rondout-Esopus Land Conservancy relies on the generosity and forward-thinking of our community members. Together we have  protected nearly 4,000 acres of meadows, mountains, streams, wetlands, farmlands, and forests in Ulster County. And we still have more work to do.

Aside from protecting your land, there are many ways to join local conservation efforts, from volunteering to making a monetary donation to partnership opportunities and serving on the board.

Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated. Volunteering opportunities range from helping to monitor easements to producing newsletters, posting on social media, or supporting RELC’s events.
